By the time you read this, I will probably be in the air on my way to the beautiful, addictive idyll of Kaua’i island, Hawai’i.
I cannot describe just how excited I am. I can confidently tell you that if I could sort out the cost of health care I would be living there right this second.
I would have no hesitation in selling the house, investing in a visa and moving lock, stock and barrel to the Garden Island for keeps.
I love it that much.
Marital Bliss
Our first week of marriage has been an odd one. It’s wonderful to have a ring on my finger and I still find myself glancing at it and smiling to myself. But we’ve also both been knee-deep in work that was neglected during the week of marriage preparation as well as trying to square everything away for our trip this week.
We are, however, deliriously happy.
It is in order to preserve this marital bliss that I’m taking a rather unconventional route of pre-writing my blog posts ((they normally come to you fresh from my brain to the screen)) and inviting a guest post from someone whom I believe to be an inspiration to many, if something of an unsung hero.
I felt it would at best lose me some brownie points or at worst cost me a honeymoon on the sofa if I were to take my laptop and be hammering out blog posts while lapping up the sun, sea and sand (and private pool).
So I hope you’ll forgive me for being overly-prepared with posts, with perhaps missing one or two and for focusing on my wife over you, dear readers.
Ivan’s post on Friday will fill a gap, I’m sure ((I’ve read it, it’s awesome)) and, hopefully, inspire some of you to do silly things in the name of causes for which you care. If not, I hope at least you’ll find your heart warmed and your day lightened by simply knowing that people like him exist.
Have a wonderful rest of July and I’ll see you for real (not pre-scheduled) at the end of the first week of August.
Side note: because I’m away, comments will also be somewhat limited, unless you’ve posted here before. If you haven’t, please be patient and I will approve them when I get access to email. Thanks!
