Paper To Do listLast week my Lowdown for the Production Office looked at productivity tools, including Evernote, the catch-all memory tool that can be used for clipping web pages, making notes or compiling and ticking off To Do lists.

Although I love – and swear by – Evernote, this week I have rediscovered the joy of the paper To Do list. Having something physical to carry around and remind you of what you’ve got to get done is one part of it. The biggest part, though, is the pure physical and emotional pleasure that comes with striking something off a list.

There’s nothing quite like the proud sweep of pen-on-paper to make you feel like you’ve accomplished something. It’s just not the same when it’s a click of a mouse just like any other operation.

What old-school technologies and methods do you still like to keep hold of?
